About the workshop:
The Internet of Things, commonly known as the IoT, is becoming an integral part of our everyday lives. But what is IoT? An IoTdevice often includes various environmental sensors and is connected wirelessly to another device (your smartphone) or to the web. When networked, these interconnected devices provide an informative web of intelligent devices that collect and exchange data. Some popular examples of IoT devices include Nest thermostats and Fitbits. As the cost of IoT hardware dives, these devices will continue to integrate with our lives in numerous ways.
In this workshop, participants will learn how to interact with the multiple layers of IoT devices and apply Design Thinking principles to develop personal applications for IoT as well as create an implementation plan for their idea. Working with Breadware Inc, an industry leader in IoT development, participants will also see how simple it can be to bring an IoT device from concept to functional prototype.
This workshop is free for Innevation Center members and UNR students and is $10 for the general public. Workshop size is limited to 10 people. To register or for more information please contact Rose Catron at firstname.lastname@example.org.
